'The Bachelor': Kelsey Shares What Prompted Her and Daisy to Ride to the Final Rose Ceremony Together

Joey Graziadei's final two women marked a franchise first with their joint ride.

Kelsey Anderson and Daisy Kent made Bachelor franchise history. Following the show's season 28 finale, ET's Denny Directo spoke with Kelsey about how she and Daisy made the decision to ride to Joey Graziadei's final rose ceremony together.

The history-making moment started earlier in the episode, when Daisy realized that she likely wasn't going to be Joey's pick, and decided to show up to Kelsey's room to talk things through.

Kelsey told ET that Daisy was "the last person" she was expecting to knock on her door, noting, "She looked really emotional, so immediately I got emotional 'cause I was like, 'What’s going on? Are you OK? What's happening?'"

After their "sweet conversation," cameras flashed to reveal the women in the car together, a decision that Kelsey said they made together.

"Honestly, I think it was a joint decision," she said. "We were just like, 'Do you wanna? Yeah, let's go.'"

As for why they took that fateful ride together, Kelsey explained, "I think we were both just really emotional in that moment and we wanted each other's support through that drive there."

While fans saw the women staring out the car's windows in silence, Kelsey told ET that that wasn't how the "really nice" ride really went down.

"We talked a lot," she said. "In the video, you only saw us gazing out the windows, but we had great conversations in the car ride and we were hyping each other up."

Joey only learned about the women's decision after he popped the question to Kelsey.

"After everything happened, we got a chance to leave together and she's like, 'Did you know Daisy and I came in a limo together?'" Joey recalled of his fiancée. "I haven't watched the show a ton, but I was like, 'I don't think that's happened. That's not a normal thing.' I think it shows how strong their connection was. They just had a really great friendship."

Indeed, Kelsey told ET that she built a "strong connection" with Daisy, with whom she had "a lot of really in-depth conversations" with throughout the filming of the show.

"It was really special," Kelsey said of her friendship with Daisy. "I think that a lot of people watching the show think that it's a competition. We're all competing for Joey, but it's a joint decision. I'm choosing Joey as well as Joey choosing me."

Their friendship made it "hard" for Kelsey, as she explained, "I was so emotional, because I was thinking, 'If it is me, then that means that Daisy is heartbroken, and if it's not me, then I'm heartbroken.' It was really hard to navigate, but I'm really glad that Daisy got to end it on her terms."

End it on her terms she did, as Daisy walked away from Joey after she realized it wasn't going to be her in the end. The move left Joey in tears.

"I was putting myself in her shoes and realizing how difficult that is to give all of this, to actually fall for someone, and know that they can't give it back even though there's a mutual respect," he said. "[There were] a lot of emotions that day. Obviously the good stuff with us, but it's tough to have that be part of the same day. It's the hard part of this process."

Afterward, the exes reunited live, providing them with "100 percent" closure, Joey said.

"I think we even had it, honestly, that day," Joey said of the final rose ceremony. "It's just great. I think what I got last night was to see her truthfully doing well and just happy with everything. I think that's what's most important."
